Who the patient is: Joshua, aged 9, had a road traffic accident an hour ago. Initial surgery has been done and there is a head injury. No other injury has been found. CT scan has been done and shows extradural haemorrhage. You have not seen the patient. A team of doctors is resuscitating the child and planning to take him to the theatre.
